Sold me polo 1.9 tdi tonight and now for what seems like the longest wait til wens when my golf 118tsi is ready to be picked up.
Hey Everyone,
I picked up my R on Tuesday from Trent at Gerald Slaven in Canberra. I have to give the guys at Gerald Slaven 11/10 for the deal they offered me, customer service, communication and delivery of the car. I ordered 11th September 2010 and it was delivered on the 25th of January 2011 with 13km on the odometer. Trent & Phil stated delivery would be mid Jan / end Jan and it was, thanks guys.
What a pleasure it was to do business with them. Everything went perfect and I highly recommend future VW buyers to give Trent and Phil a call in Canberra. Can't get enough of the R. Spent the last 4 days driving back to Brisbane through the mountains and some land mines on the road and made it home safely with nil obvious damage / paint chips that i can see anyhow. Now have 1800km on the clock and cant wait to put more on it.
Oh, and the wait is worth it everybody.:banana::banana:
Gratz! Yeah the R is a fantastic car isn't it, loads of fun to drive and a great all rounder that almost does everything! IJust can't get enough of driving it! Agreed it really is worth the wait, no matter how painful. The first time you give your R a bootfull of the go faster pedal, the pain of waiting will be a distant memory! hehehe
Cause ccoops79 is from Brisbane! That's how great Gerald Slaven is to deal with, that ccoops79 is not the first member (possibly not even in the first 10 members) to have flown to Canberra and driven their cars back home to Brisbane, and he certainly won't be the last :)
Hi Beowulf,
I'm a Brizzy Boy. Flew down a drove back. Awesome drive through the mountains, beautiful countryside and PERFECT for running the R's engine in. Always wanted to do that drive with such an awesome car. Lots of winding roads and hill climbs allowing me to load the engine. Zero traffic and what traffic i did come across i just booted it past them :P The guys in Canberra were such a pleasure to deal with, no BS, plus i was unable to negotiate a deal as good as the one i got from Gerald Slaven, thumbs up to the boys in ACT  Couldn't be happier with Gerald Slaven & the R :banana:
just picked up the r and now sitting at tint a car getting bolle tint.. best 30 sec drive ever :)
After test driving a Golf R earlier in the week I decided I had to have one of these, and couldn't wait the 7+ months the dealers were quoting.
Luckily I managed to find one in stock that ticked the boxes I was after - DSG, 19" wheels, ACC, sunroof, Sat Nav, black leather, electric seats, bluetooth and MDI, and in the candy white which was one of my preferred colours (why don't we get the R in tornado red like Europe?). I miss out on the upgraded stereo system but I can live with that.
So hopefully I'll get everything sorted out in time so I can pick this baby up around Thursday or Friday - I can't wait!
Looking forward to being a VW owner again after 12 years or so.
