What do you think of these wheels as a potential upgrade?

    I have 16" - these are 17's from a Jetta:

And an old reference photo of the current setup:

And while I'm posting pictures, took one this morning while waiting for the windscreen to become transparent again

    That's P for Park

Not bad - the 17s would be a considerable upgrade in the looks department. How about seeing if you can source any Interlagos 18s from a CC V6? Guys in Europe and the states have fitted them to TSI Golfs, and I reckon they look fantastic:

Not too bad at all. What profile tyres are they though? I was thinking maybe the bigger wheels would also help with unwanted traction loss when trying to cross an intersection quickly.

I've read that some people have fitted them (with various tire sizes) and had rubbing issues.
I'm not really sure how different sized tyres fit on the same size wheel but that's why I'm not the expert. Must be a profile thing (so I'm guess no rubbing would then mean less comfortable ride).

Mine are 205/55/R16 and I think the safe limit is 225 based on what I've read so far.

So, just quickly - rubbing tends to be a bigger problem when you go low than when you go wide. Fitting 18s to a car that runs 15s or 16s stock may end up looking a bit like a 4x4, which is why lowering is often advisable from an aesthetic perspective. But there may also be restrictions with width.

However, here's photos of a 103TDI running 19s - so it's clearly doable. Ride quality may be questionable however.

(The stock tyre size for the Interlagos on the CC is 235/40 R18.)

Well if anything I'd be looking for some of these (same design as your recommendation but 17x7.5)

Doubt I'd go any bigger than that.
