Thanks mate, but they are not quite the same.
The Vision ones i'm talking about are in the download brochure for the GTI

Any reason for people not ordering the dealer accessory rims, or is just because they are expensive compared to after market stuff?

Aaah... they've done the 'Shadow treatement' like they have done with the Denver to Detroit upgrade. So they are the same, just one has black paint on them

People don't typically order dealer accessory rims because they are expensive. They can typically cost ~$3800, compared with the 'factory upgrade' from the 17 to 18" which only costs $1200.
For ~$3800 you can get practically any great quality 3rd party wheel you'd want. If you don't mind going for replicas then you could get 2 or 3 sets for that price! hehe

Wimmer's take on the new VW Golf GTI is almost all about performance and very little about appearance. The stock GTI rolls out of the factory with 210 horsepower and 280Nm (207 lb-ft) of torque, but after Wimmer RS gets its hands on the 2.0-liter turbo unit, those numbers are increased to a hefty 386 hp and 455 Nm (332 lb-ft) allowing the hot hatch to achieve a top speed of 267 km/h or 166mph.

This extra power comes thanks to an optimized turbo, the use of a sports CAT, a modified intake system and fuel pump as well as a reprogrammed ECU just to mention a few of the upgrades.

Wimmer RS also installs a sports clutch and a height-adjustable HR sports coilover suspension system while the package can be completed with a choice of 18-, 19- or 20-inch alloy wheels wrapped in high-performance tires.

Having seen quite a few MkVIs recently, it has to be red. I was overtaken by a white MkVI GTI on the freeway last night (well, it was mostly white but with a lot of reddish mud splashed around the back end) and it passed me in a most sedate manner. Had it been a red GTI it would have wooshed by as all red cars must.

Yeah - but I mean white cars in general. Go into a supermarket carpark and sometimes you'll see 50% of the cars are white and silver, and then the other 50% are made up of every other possibe colour. Although the blue is the majority of the R32 sales, that blue (and other manufacturers similar blues) is a small percentage compared to 'white'.

I just thought white was a good girls colour. Sick of silver and grey, and there are heaps of black cars on the road right now....
Already got a red car... don't particularly like the VI red.....
Black has attitude though - it's a toss up.
Wish VW had better colours. (It's a girl thing!)

hehe... actually in this case I really don't think it is a 'girl thing'. I really wish they had more colours too, and I'm 100% man
