The red one is a mk6 wagon with 19" vmr 701's. I normally think the back of the wagon looks ugly but i could live with that car above!

problem with a wagon is, if it's black then it's an instant "hearse" effect... other colours might be ok (e.g. Passat R36 wagon in blue still looks hot)
As far as I'm concerned, if you need 5 doors, you need a wagon
or a short wagon for 3dr owners... c'mon, they're not exactly THAT sporty.... there's lots of proper 2dr coupes out there for a change

are those replica wheels being sold over ebay - are they any good? e.g. replica RS4, replica R32 etc?
Its prob best to inspect them before you buy as the quality can vary and the detail could be lacking. As for functionality as a wheel, they should have no problems.
Dont forget companies like VMR, Avant Guarde and Miro make essentially replicas of other wheels and they are popular in the US.

I might be wrong, but I am confident I'm not, but the 3 door version's doors are the same length as the 5 door's front doors.

Nope, the 3 door Golf's doors are quite a bit longer than the 5 door front doors.
This is one of my main complaints about the 5 door Golf, is that the B Pillar is too far forward and obscures my peripheral vision, making me feel closed-in. I've driven 3 door hatches, and 2 door coupes (with and without a B-pillar), plus 4 door large sedans or wagons, so for me to get into a 5 door Golf feels quite strange due to the B Pillar being right beside my head. The 3 door Golf's are just so much more "open".
The other thing is that the door trim (arm rest etc) on the inside of the doors in the 5 door is so much shorter and seems to finish way too early... or at least it does in comparison to the 3 door.
Many people don't seem to have any clue what I'm talking about when I mention these points this though, so maybe they're just used to it...
