Hi Mate,
I have found the same issue on my 2011 GTI 6spd. The car is fine until it warms up and then after that the gear changes become a bit clunky. Would love to find out if this is normal....
Hi all,
I'm having an odd clutch issue on my manual 118tsi, the clutch is as smooth as butter, (as it should be) but once the car is completely warmed up and I've been driving around for a while the clutch starts to feel crunchy, if that makes sense? it's no longer smooth, there is a completely different feel to it.
Once the car has cooled down a bit, it's smooth again but soon returns to the same feeling after I've been driving awhile!
Any ideas, is that normal? It's actually annoying me![]()

Hi mate,
Do you just find the gear changes different, or does the clutch itself feel different??

I experienced this on Sunday. 1st to 2nd CRUNCH - 2nd to 3rd CRUNCH then was fine all the way to 6th gear. It started doing it after about 10 mins of driving in town and I will admit that I was giving it a little bit of gas...
Oh ok, mine is the clutch itself, gear changes seem ok.

Something adjusted a bit close and binding when it warms up, or maybe the thrust bearing?
