No the car was still feeling ok until today when it temporarily went to limp mode.

    One dud turbo

    Hi Momoe,

I had the same issue with my Polo TSI. I know it isn't the same engine but I thought I would mention it.

Had the car go in to limp mode 10 mins from work just after having my 15,000km service completed the week before. VW assist cleared the code, it got me to work. I rang the service centre I had it at the week before and they were most unhelpful telling me to drop the car off and they will look at it when they can but no guarantees when and couldn't give me a courtesy car. I then went to another VW service centre, who also helped out with a loan car. They couldn't get a fault code out of the system. Told me I could either come and pick it up or let a "Technician" take it home to see if they could replicate (which I agreed to). Long story short, it happened to them on their way back to the service centre the next day. Dialogue with VW Germany led them to a faulty turbo or perhaps a faulty sensor in the turbo. About 4 days later, picked it up with a new turbo.

Couldn't tell you whether that was the definitive fix though as I only did another 2000 odd km's before trading in on a MK6 Golf GTI.

Hi all just a quick update ..... the golf is going in to the dealer on friday and has since started making all sorts of funny noises when starting and the electrical issues are slowly getting worse I hope they can fix it and thats it. It's because of these problems I cancelled my Polo GTI and bought something completely different, so hopefully these problems are fixed soon.... I'll let you know how it goes....

Sounds like you have lost a bit of confidence in the brand. Welcome to VWWorld.
