I have to say I like the styling of the Mk 6 much more than the Mk 5.

I think the boxier shape of the MkVI lends itself much more to aggressive styling as shown by these pictures. Much like the boxy shape of the MkIV produced something as aggressive as its' R32 and the likes of Fuzion's GTI etc. I haven't seen anything in the MkV bubble shape that that is as aggressive.
    Cheers,

that GTI does look good. I don't really like that standard Golf VI shape but the GTI definitely gets my approval. If the GTI looks that good, I'm really looking forward to the GTI-R

Im struggling to like the mk6 so far. But then I struggled to appreciate the mk5 when it was first released as well. As with all trends the more you look at them the more you accept.

MK3 is still the coolest looking golf

Looks very nice but it doesn't have that angry look to it. Just missing those aggressive lines and lights. There's just no Grrr....
Why hasn't he put VW centre caps in those rims also?
Don't get me wrong I like MkVs and people have done great things with them but it's just missing that little bit of aggressiveness. I don't blame VW though, I blame the stupid EU and their dumb pedestrian safety laws.

IMO VW have hit the nail right on the head with the styling and looks of the GTI MkVI. I CAN'T WAIT TILL TO SEE ONE IN THE METAL... !! Hopefully Melb Motorshow!

OK, i also thought the new Golf MKVI looked pretty average until now. The GTI definitely is a step up.

I really like the rear profile, to start with i didnt think i would as i didnt like the new tail lights, but it looks tough in these pics.

I like the side profile, only subtle difference from the current MKV side on i reckon

Im still out on the front profile and those headlights, makes it look too long in the nose, and not boxy enough...may look better in the flesh though, will wait and see

I also like the updated dials too .

I like the slightly more aggressive styling, especially at the front, without it looking obviously tuned or aftermarket which is what you get with Mk IVs.

    This is a potential furphy.

There were a couple of 4 door GTIs at the Paris Motor Show last year, including one in blue.

The photos on the WCF site were taken in the publicly accessible Volkswagen pavilion at the Autostadt.

And, apart from that the images don't look a hell of a lot different from the cars on show on Paris. Which could mean that the car inside the Autostadt (ie. the "leaked images" car on WCF) is simply one of the show cars form Paris.

But I got sucked in too.
