i think you'll find like everyone else had said that its just condensation from AC. Ive found on some VAG vehicle that the drain doesnt drop directly onto the floor but it drops on top of the right hand under tray then drips off that. So alot of water would be getting trapped in there.
Also your AC pipe sits over the chassis rail, so theres no reason the water couldnt be dripping there and getting stuck in there.

Although I thought my driving style may have aggrevated the situation. Am relieved now at any rate!
