This is not my first MK6 Golf R. In fact it’s my:
    - 2nd MK6 Golf R
    - 4th MK6 Golf
    - 8th Volkswagen

Prior to this, I owned a Candy white 2011 MK6R. Like this one, it was optioned with the 19” black wheels and black headlights. It also had a sunroof, leather interior, and RNS510.

In the time that I owned it, I added some 18” Enkei RS05RR wheels, VWR springs, Zimmerman brake rotors, ATE ceramic pads and an RCD330. The engine was completely stock.

I sold it when I got a job in the city, that I’d be commuting to by train. It was too nice to leave parked outside at the station. So I put my tail between my legs and bought an i30. I missed the Golf but was able to compensate by driving my wife’s R36 Passat on weekends.

A year passed and I attended Cars and Coffee and Dural and on the way home, stopped past VW to take a look at the MK7.5R. They are so so so nice, but I can’t bring myself to part with 50k+ on a car. I went across the road and had a look at a 2nd hand 2016 STI, but it just wasn’t for me… And I asked myself, why not another MK6R? Get a blue one? Try and find one with the beautiful Recaro seats? And this time… Don’t hold back on the modifications.

Not long after, this one came up on facebook. It was stock, had 98,000kms but had been well looked after mechanically. There are some cosmetic imperfections which I’ll get around to fixing, but it felt like a good starting point.
