My golf comes with two tone white paint....at no extra cost!!

What are your thoughts on the build quality of todays cars?? Mine comes with the following issues....panel gap inconsistence with regard to the tail gate and front bumper where the bumper meets the front fender. A intermittent rattle from some where between the B pillar & C pillar on the passenger side & lastly in order to save money VW no longer colour matches the paint on the plastic parts of the car which is very obvious in the lighter colours such as white & silver.....Why is it that some how i feel lucky that there are not more issues, but given that the car is only 8 months old most likely there will be others!!

Get it fixed man.. warranty.. your friend.. and reason you pay massive prices for new cars.. once they are out of warranty, you $45-$55K investment will be worth around $30K or $20 thousand dollars less.

Thats enough for 4 resprays, so dont feel bad when the dealer fixes a factory **** up once.

Some new cars have actually had repairs done to them prior to delivery. Accidents do happen when the car is enroute to Australia, dents, dings, re-painting and even panel replacement are usually done to damaged new cars prior to delivery to the dealership. So don't be surprised that you new car isn't really pristine from the factory.

I've witnessed a panel beater in Moorooka repair up a couple of new cars for a dealership prior to being put on sale.

Build quality is better then ever.

Mine comes with the following issues....panel gap inconsistence with regard to the tail gate and front bumper where the bumper meets the front fender.
This can be adjusted. See your dealer.

A intermittent rattle from some where between the B pillar & C pillar on the passenger side
    Known issue. See your dealer.

& lastly in order to save money VW no longer colour matches the paint on the plastic parts of the car which is very obvious in the lighter colours such as white & silver.....
What is your source of this revelation?

Colour matching plastic parts is near impossible for a multitude of reasons.
-Plastic is a different material to the rest of the car and the pigments settle differently resulting in a darker or lighter finish.
-Temperature, when the car's metal body is hotter the bumper will look darker and the same when the car's metal body is cooler the bumper will look lighter.
-Bumpers require a flex additive that changes the constancy of the paint a little and results in slight differences in curing time.

Why is it that some how i feel lucky that there are not more issues, but given that the car is only 8 months old most likely there will be others!!
There's a name for this medical condition...... hyper something.... chill out and enjoy the car, you have a few minor faults and that's it.

Its not that bad.....its more a case where todays manufactures are cutting cost by not colour matching the bumpers and given that they are plastic and not metal they take on a darker colour then the rest of the car.
