I'm in the same spot as you guys. If my R was a weekend/trackday warrior I'd have got them. As for the RS4 etc, if I could afford one of them, I'd probaly have a GTI as daily so the comfort factor wouldn't be an issue

I read somewhere that the GTI/R's standard seats are made by Recaro as well?

"She" found the satnav volume too low. I know you have to adjust the volume while the satnav is making an announcement, but it's a bit fiddly. Also shows how hard it must be to review cars when they are so complicated and have so many features. "She" is also not a fan of the cupholder.

Yeah - who knows whether the press machine had the bottle opener in there or not to support the cup...
But it's pretty good when the only real complaint is that the reviewer just didn't bother to look at the manual and see adjusting the Nav volume is as simple as just turning up the volume (via the regular volume knob) whilst the Nav is talking! (and judging by cme2c's comment above about it being "fiddly", I take it he doesn't know this either! hehe)

Yeah nothing to worry about, maybe they should RTFM before making comments like that other reviewer who didn't know the steering wheel was adjustable.

    That's a good $9,500 question..

Why should reviewers RTFM.... real owners don't bother

That's true lol. Although some people take their reviews as being very factual.

I've tested the car twice and didn't even notice it having cupholders hehe, I suspect the manual will be even more distant in my mind!

my GTI's cup holder now pretty much become a new home for my Maui Jim sunnies...
the overhead compartment is freakin' way too small for pretty much any modern sunnies...
