If they do fit, you'll up for a very hefty price tag from a Dealer.
May as well go aftermarket and get a decent 4-Pot set from ECS.
Hi Guys
Just a quick question, i know this might sound stupid but i need to change my brakes as advised by my dealer when i got the car serviced back in Nov, which i haven't gotten around to doing. I was wondering if i'm able to go my service dealer and ask if i'm able to get the MK7 GTI performance pack brakes fitted into my MK6 GTI? Does anyone know if they'll fit with no problems?

Be prepared to hand over MANY dollars for these brakes. And that's IF they would sell them to you.
If you want upgraded brakes for your MK6 GTI, then get a set of Golf R disks and calipers. (new disks and 2nd hand calipers)
you will need:
the Mk7 GTI PP calipers, rotors, dust shields (not essential), and pads. lines should be interchangeable.
BUT, you will gain something like 5-10kg of weight on each side!

Too heavy IMO.
Better off with one of the 4 pot BBK kits which are equal weight to the OEM 312mm units or possibly a fraction lighter. I thinks there's a few in the 4-sale section at the moment.
My question would be why does the OP want to go to the bigger brakes? You can achieve a lot with the standard 312mm kit if you buy premium aftermarket pads, rotors & some decent brake fluid (and maybe braided lines & TT-RS airflow plastics for the lower control arm)

Unless you are doing regular track days, competitive supersprints or targa events then some upgraded pads and fluid should be all you need.
You be amazed how much better brakes feel with some fresh fluid.
I quite like the ferodo ds2500's and ap racing 5.1 brake fluid for my track days.
If you are worried about potential brake squeal then look at some Hawk pads.
I had these in my MkV GTI and could do 10 laps at Wakefield before fade started. Then it was time to look at braided lines as they were the next weak link

I would have thougth they meant you need new brake pads (and the rotors machined)
There should not be any need to replace the brake calipers (you're talking thousands of $)
I would be surprised if your dealer would entertain that scenario at all - given dot compliance and liability issues
If you want to mix and match brake equipment you'll have to do that yourself
That's the best bang for buck approach for sure and will fully satisfy all road usage needs
The Ferodo DS2500 is my all time favorite brake pad compound (have that on the front of my Octavia)
They work from cold, great bite and can take serious heat/abuse on a spirited track day
The down side is the brake dust (Medium/High - certainly dirty & annoying) an they do take their toll on the rotors (fair enough too)

Hi guys,
I'm currently having an MK6 Gti 2012 with DSG. I'm with d standard brake set up currently. Looking to upgrade the rotors to a slotted and dimpled type to score a little more bite n life on d discs. So the recommendations mainly were either DBA kangaroo paw type or d RDA. But news is that RDA's been bought over by a Chinese mob and hence shifted their manufacturing over and there're quality issues. With the added woe of being in Vic whereby the mod scene is severely restricted in terms of options and strict vehicular laws, what are my options and locations to look at?
Was told brake plus local stores do stock some after market types apart from DBAs'.. any thoughts. Also would you also upgrade the brake lines to braided types?? I do get the squishy feel on d pedal after doing some spirited drives into the country on occasions. Appreciate the advise.
Cheers.
Thanks & regards,
gvern74
dimple / slotted won't provide extra life. On the street they won't even provide any extra advantages. If you want the looks then fine.
RDA have been in China for years and you are correct, there can be issues.
DBA are good & easy to come by.
Change of rotors is not considered an upgrade in engineering terms and there are several big brake kits you could fit that don't require engineering - you just have to read the regs to work out what you can do.
You haven't actually mentioned why you think the stock set-up isn't working for you (apart from occasional squishy pedal, which rotors probably won't fix)? What's it doing wrong?
What pads are you running, when was the brake fluid last changed & what size rims are you running?
And if you continue writing "d" instead of "the" I won't be replying
