Buy from Tirerack and save so much money it is not even funny.
I know theres a tyres thread, but it full of little 16 and 17 inch discussions and us R drivers need it bigger than that!
[did I really just write that ]
Seriously, my treads are wearing and I just got a price to replace the Conti's - which I love by the way - at $590 each......
the guy also recommended Pzero Rosso ($389) or Pzero Nero ($530).
Anyone changed treads and got recomendations (either to get or avoid!)
Cheers,
C

Nothing to stop you posting in that (now this) thread with your question! And there is plenty of talk on sizes up to 18" - the standard R fitment.

It varies and you need to email them for a quote. I paid ~$300 for shipping of four tyres (225/40/R18 Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric) to Adelaide.

I used to think I was anal-retentive until I started getting involved in car forums
I just checked on tirerack.
For under $1000 you can get basically any tyre on there. Even Michelin Pilot Super Sports are under $1000US. Without shipping they are at around $870 for 4.
Conti Sport Contact 3's come in at $782 AUD for 4. Or $195.50 each.

Thanks for all the responses guys - Will request a quote and then compare with prices here in Oz.
Can anyone advise whether having 255/35/20 on the new Tig will put out the speedo? My understanding is that it will but only marginally (1-3km), providing I don't go any higher in the profile (ie. 40-45)??

Anyone running 18x8 (~ET50) wheels on a Golf R (stock suspension) with 235/40 profile tyres? The OEM 225/40/18 fitment excludes the use of AD08, RS3 etc due to load rating while 235/40 doesn't.
The calc on willtheyfit looks ok to me when compared to the OEM 19's i have now as does the one on rimsntires.com but hard to tell sometimes!
