If you rotated your tyres every 10,000-15,000km then you'd get a lot more out of them. 27,000km just on the front is excellant.

michelin PS3 if you want long life & good performance. PSS if you want better performance with slightly less km.

Been looking on Tirerack.com - My pick at the moment is the Continental ExtremeContact DW. Seems to score in the top 3 in the review and has the highest tread wear rating, plus is only $160 per corner plus shipping. Based on other's experiences I should be able to get them here and fitted for around $1000 - $1100 AUD.

I got quoted $420/corner just for replacement CSC2's, which are a few rungs down the food chain from the CEC DW's.

It's a joke how much we pay for stuff here. It would work out cheaper for me to get a set of brand new 18" Enkei's fitted with CEC DW tyres, shipped to my front door, than it would be to go and get JUST replacement tyres if I went to a shop in Brisbane.

If anyone has any good/bad experiences with the Conti Extreme's - happy to hear it!

i actually think the continental extremecontact dw is the lowest of their max performance tyres. the cs2 and cs5 are actually more expensive for equivalent sizing and are pegged higher in the catalog. not saying the dw isnt any good, but it isnt their flagship tyre.
one tyre to look at would be the goodyear assymetirc 2, its also a max performance tyre and the assymetric 1 won most of the tyre test awards, and the assym 2 is supposed to be the next step

dont get started on the whole "we get ripped off in oz" thing, its done and dusted, just buy it overseas and move on

The extreme contact doesn't seem to be on their global site catalogue anymore so maybe it was a high ranking tyre but is now in run-out, hence the good price? It is the highest rated user reviewed conti tyre on tirerack, but the thing that I like is the high treadwear rating. Anyway I think I will keep looking and researching. I rotated the tyres this weekend so I should be right for another couple of months... Appreciate everyones input

the Conti Extreme Contact DW has always been priced quite cheaply and appears to be very popular in the USA.

Bear in mind, high treadwear rating can sometimes mean less grip... but in saying that the new Michelin Pilot Super Sport and Goodyear Asy 2 are both rated at 300. My current Potenza RE050A is rated at 140 and someone else managed to get 45000kms out of the RE050A.

The ExtremeContact DW & ExtremeContact DWS (released 2009) are aimed the North American market and is their flagship tire. They're probably not meant for official distribution outside of this market, which is why you'll only find the tire on Continental's U.S. or Canadian website.

The SportContact 5 (released 2011) and SportContact 5P (released 2010) are successors to the SportContact 3 (released 2006) and the flagship road-going passenger tyres for the European market. If Tire Rack is anything to go by, the SC5 and SC5P are not available in the North American market, except for some OEM specific fitments.

Due to the testing procedure being run by the mfr, TWR aren't directly comparable between brands, only within a brand.

Washed my car on the weekend and noticed that the centre caps have started to develop the dreaded white worm, anyone else have any experience with this? Wondering if the dealer will swap the centre caps as a warranty claim?

Wow I thought I was the only one!
All 4 of my centre caps are wormed up.
I'd love to hear what others have done to deal with the darned thing.

Anyone have any experience with Dunlop SP Sport Maxx TT? They're selling them on Tirerack for $107 each (runout stock).

Spoilt for choice on that website, it's too hard to make up my mind. Then I start looking at brakes/suspension/wheels and I just completely get side tracked!!
