hi guys, did a voluntary oil change on my GTI tonight after it hit 7500km and it seems like i may have caused a bit of damage to the underside of the car.... my jack which is one of those cosco low profile ones seemed to rip to shreds the bubbly textured stuff ( sorry im not sure what its called ) where the jacking point is . Seems like a bit of bare metal has been exposed... does anyone know what this stuff is called and is it possible to fix ?

If it's like the rest of the body it's galvanised and should be OK.
Just touch it up with a bit of more-or-less matching paint.
I use a bit of solid timber with a slot in it when lifting most cars with a trolley jack.
