Question MK6 TDI Golf DSG O2E Slipping Grinding Hard Shifts Clunking

    Hello VWW members,

I hope this post finds you all well. I'm currently facing some DSG issues with my 2009 Golf MK6 TDI (Engine Code: CBAB) equipped with the O2E DSG DQ250 Transmission, and I'm reaching out to the community for some guidance and suggestions.

Here's a brief summary of the problem I'm encountering:

Issue: Very loud whining sound when in gear and foot on brake, then slipping when removing foot from brake before the clutch finally engages in a rough clunk.
I had DTC code 17252, indicating "trans fluid pressure at adaptation limit." To address this, I performed a DSG Fluid and Filter Change using LiquiMoly Clutch Transmission Oil 8100. I ensured the car was level and ran it at a temperature of 38°C to set the fluid level properly. After the fluid change, I ran a DSG adaptation, and the DTC was successfully cleared.

Problem Persists: However, the issue still persists. I'm experiencing slipping, hard and clunky gear changes, as well as unusual sounds during the gear shifts. This is obviously not how the DSG transmission should perform, and I'm at a loss as to what might be causing these problems.

I'm hoping some of you experienced VW enthusiasts might have some insights or suggestions on what might be causing these symptoms and how I can resolve them. It's frustrating to have gone through the fluid change and adaptation process only to find that the problems haven't been fully resolved.

If you've encountered a similar issue or have any knowledge or advice related to DSG transmissions and this specific DTC, please share your thoughts and recommendations. Your expertise and insights would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your assistance, and I look forward to your responses. Let's work together to get my Golf MK6 TDI running smoothly again.

I've included a video of the sound and clunk when in gear with foot on and off brake.

That sounds clutch related, was the fluid and filter clean (no sparkles)when you changed them? 187Kkm is not a huge amount, were the other 60Kkm DSG services done?

    Thanks for the reply.

The fluid had a small bit of sparkles in the last 100ml when emptying the pan. Filter was a bit dark.
I'm doubtful that the last DSG service was actually carried out by the previous owner.
