Hi All,
I had just brought a 2009 Golf VI TDI DSG last month and I find the car very noisy, the car had around 99900KM so the KM is relative high.
I am not a mechanic and this is my first turbo diesel. I would be very happy if i can have the car fixed under warranty. Browsing throught the forum and i notice that most people are very happy with the refineness and quiteness of the VW 103TDI engine but i seem to be unluckly enough to get all the problems. That ruin my experience with VW.
Here is the problem i notice so far:
1. Rattle from left dash and b-piller at slighly uneven road
2. Rattle from drive door trim at bigger bump
3. Low frequency vibration at idling. It get louder after warmup. It also seems to be louder inside the car.
4. Low frequency noise continous noise when the car is traveling at 70-90km/h, not sure it the noise is coming from the turbo charger but it really hurt my ear and i am starting to have headache everytime driving this car. It also seems to get worse after the car warmed up to optimal temperature 90 degree C. Strange enough that the low frequency noise stop when I take my car to 100km/h. It also decrease when i manually shift to 5th gear when the car is going at 80km/hr which is the noisest. When the road is slightly up-hill, it will also become very noisy (also low frequency) even at 50-60km/hr. The majority of my driving is done at 70-80km/h zone which is the most noisest for the car.
I had been taken the car back to VW South Yarra servicing department to get them to look at the problem but after leaving the car there for a day, the answer is no rattle was identify, cannot test the noise at 70-90km as the test route that they use for test drive do not allow the techincian to drive at 70-90km/h, the only finding by the technican is the tyre noise from rear tyre. I had also confirm with the service advisor that they had done a 98000k service but they doesn't seem to be intested to stamp my services book and reset the service interval on the MDI. I reckon it is a waste of time talking the the servicing department.
I would be appreciated if anyone give me some idea what can possible cause the problem as I really want to get the car fixed (by a different dealer) so that I can enjoy driving the Golf.
I brought a new RNS510 from eBay after i purchased the car but I would like to get all the problem resolved before I install the unit.
Thanks in advance.
