Fitment is an extremely easy job - see the first few posts of this thread for links to DIY videos. All you'll need to do is chase up someone to help you code the car to remove the bulb-out warning on the dashboard. See the http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/foru...elp-27504.html thread for that.

Congrats, GTI. A job well done.
MkVI GTD fitted with Bluetooth & MDI, CSG, DSG, Xenons, RNS510 with Dynaudio, ACC, Weathershields, Mudflaps, Sunroof, LED Tails, LED Indicators, LED Foglights, Interior LEDs, Tinted, RVC and Towbar - Gosford.
Just had a second look at the front parkers after codeing rear LEDs.
DRL s ( halogen) come on with the small parker globes, very very dimly lit.
Before I did the codeing, it was as usual, parkers on, but no DRL s on.
What the ??
Anyone had any experience with this ??
HAve DRL s disabled atm.
Any help woukd be great !

Sounds like you've coded incorrectly. See this post - I did the same.
Then see this post to determine the correct code required for your car.

Thanks Adam,
When I did the codeing I had to go to long codeing 2. As Byte 18 didi not allow me to change the binary !
Did use the list on the second link yuou have posted. Will check it out again tomoro.
Any ideas ion the byte 18 not allowing a change ??

Either VW or Ross Tech seem to be putting in warnings about changing anything in byte 18. I know the Central Electrics Computer Module (CECM) comes in different types. Ones that have a part number that ends in ...86 are a midline type. The correct one for Xenons with LED DRL's and also LED tails ends in ...87 and is a highline type.
I'm tinkering with seeing about a proper Xenon retrofit and know I will need a new 87 type CECM.
GtiGolf, if you have Halogen headlights and are running 651 software I know that "15" in byte 18 should fix your problems, that's what I just recoded mine to. I had to physically put "15" in the top line of byte 18 as there is no option in the drop down box.

It all comes down to the right code for the module version you've got. When was your car built? (Week and year.) If you have halogens though, as Ozram has suggested, 15 (binary 00010101) should be the go for you, unless your GTI is a very early build from 2009.
With the single version of VCDS, I've seen some central electrics modules that have a large number of values in the dropdown (including the value I'm looking for), and others with far fewer, where I'm forced to enter the value manually. It's not just more difficult for newer cars either - my 0575 is easy, but I recently coded a 0573 and needed to do the Lcode2. I wonder if I should PM Dana @ Ross-Tech about getting the values we believe to be correct, added to the dropdown for the module revisions we know about. I suspect the software just provides a dropdown based on known good combinations, and they're missing a few of the revisions in there.
