Turns out my dealer mistook an Edition 35 ( with LED's ) for a stock GTI ( without LED's ). I have since pm'd Ozram.

Does anyone know what the coding is for a GTI Edition 35? I just thought the same coding might work for a MY 12 stock GTI with bi-xenons. Without coding I am a little reluctant to take the plunge and purchase LED tails.

Chances are that won't work. The cars that are fitted with them from the factory (eg the R and Adidas) typically run different versions of the module, and you can't rely on coding from a different version of the Central Electrics module. However, if the version of hardware and software does match up exactly, then you should be good.

Check the links to the various UK and US sites in the coding post, to see what others have used for MY12 cars with bi-xenons.

Have any GTI owners coded a 2012 built Mk6 equipped with bi-xenon with LED DRL?

Just wondering if the coding to remove bulb error is different for 2012 built vehicles.

    Any help is appreciated.

Buy them. I've coded 2 MY11 35 editions now and they work wonderfully.

    See this: http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/foru...tml#post555935

It's been a guiding light for me.

Presumably you've not coded these cars to fit LEDs, as they come with them fitted from the factory?

The poster is asking about the coding for a standard MY12 GTI with bi-xenons, not an Edition 35. Can you report back ref the module hardware and software versions of the Ed 35s you've coded, so we can see if they use the same module as the GTI? (And therefore determine if the coding does in fact apply or not.)

The two I coded were rev 615. I'll try and dig up the autoscan I performed to paste the module info. That coding thread is invaluable.

This is what I found on VWVortex:

I sent her my Auto-Scan late last week, and she replied to me this morning with what to try on byte 18!!!

All works perfectly now, No Bulb out errors on dash anymore!!!!

To be clear....this is for 2012s with factory LED/DRLs who added the Euro 'R' LED tail lights. Also Dana had me download the latest BETA version(11.8.0)of software, get it here http://www.ross-tech.com/vcds/downlo...rent.html#11.8 and install it!

    Here you go...

Go into 09 - Central Electronics...we need to change byte 18. Byte 18 is currently Hex '20' from factory....the long code looks similar to this:

    6F180A3A90272A04108802C170000D4448052086474D8DB0E4 842024A040

Change Byte 18 to Hex '21' which would leave you with this coding:

    6F180A3A90272A04108802C170000D4448052186474D8DB0E4 842024A040

You must make the change in the long code itself by editing out 20 and editing in 21, you cannot do this in the 'long coding helper' window i found(im a noob on VCDS)

CAUTION!! DO NOT COPY/PASTE THIS LONG CODE AS IT MAY RUIN YOUR CAR FOREVER!

    Dan

I wonder if the same coding can be applied to Australian models?

Well, v0a coded his MY11.5 w/bi-xenon to 22 and got it working (see the coding post), but that's an older Central Electrics revision (0615). 21 might be a go, as might 4 be. The trouble with the US market is they have a different lighting configuration (side lights etc) and typically different controllers. Perhaps PM Dana @ Ross Tech and see if she has any information on the coding for Aus/UK spec cars in this configuration? That's what I'd do.

Be sure to take note of the original coding before you change it, and to double-check the operation of all lights after making the change!

Well it seems that Ross Tech only provide support to registered users, so no luck there.
