Get a scan of the car.
Door control module should give you an idea of what the fault is ie a switch problem or window regulator.
Then replace said part. Both easy to do, just remove the inner door card first.
Hi all. I know this problem would have been discussed many times over the years but I can't seem to find a search button on this forum in Tapatalk, so a link would be much appreciated.
Anyway, a friend of mine has had her drivers window stuck in the 'up' position for quite some time (maybe a year) and she goes through a card-operated parking station twice a day, so I can see she is a tad upset with her hubby who has put her complaint on the back burner.
Question, what goes wrong and does it usually require a new complete mechanism/actuator? Is it the cable that fails? I've asked her to text a pic of the VIN so I can price one at the stealer.
Suggestions? Hassles/tips to replace said unit?
Thanks in advance.

Same thing happened to me, I replaced the drivers door power window switches as one part. I just bought a new one via China on eBay like this OE Chrome Master Window Power Switch For VW Golf Gti Jetta MK5 MK6 Passat Rabbit | eBay
It's a small amount of mucking around to pop the door card enough to install it, say 30 mins and a few torx screws and trim to pull, but worth it.
