Wouldn't surprise me if there is other stuff done and more things planned, as there has to be a decent reason to upgrade the engine internals on a car which is still in its warranty period

    Pretty cool though. I admire people who are willing to go to these extents of a new car which is still in warranty! hehe
    Spot on, Corey. We've been talking engine internals etc more than the drive train at this stage so I wouldn't know as much as a lot of other people about the setup.

    Yeah big ups to doing this while under warranty. Although, he is replacing all the stuff that breaks anyway, so I guess there's not so much of a problem.

    Hi Corey,

    This is indeed my build, its quite exciting despite being expensive.

    The requirements for the TFSI GIAC extreme are VF intake, HPFP, RS4 regulator, 3" exhaust... extra intercooling is always helpful but not required. The TSI's only need the intake (AWE tuning) and an exhaust.

    My TSI is getting a fairly serious massage... the build specs are as follows;

    Engine;
    - Mahle Motorsport 9.5:1 CR coated pistons.
    - DM Forged I beam rods with ARP rod bolts
    - ARP head stud kit
    - Calico coated rod and main bearings with ARP main bearing cap bolts
    - Custom valve guides
    - Head port and polish
    - Balanced crank
    - AWE Tuning CCB intake
    - Miltek 3" race exhaust
    - Snow Performance Stage 3 water methanol kit
    - Forge Twintercooler w/ Audi S3 cooler
    - Mishimoto external oil cooler
    - Forge motorsport catch can kit.

    Drivetrain;

    - DXD Southbend stage 3 endurance clutch
    - Wavetrac LSD with ARP studs
    - VWR engine mounts
    - VF Engineering short shift kit
    - RacingBrake.com Forged 4 piston BBK w/ 330mm 2 piece rotors
    - VW R rear brake conversion with 310mm discs

    and various other bits...

    Lol... with all that, are you going to stay with the K04!?

    Corey, its more about ultimate reliability than outright horsepower at the moment. Once the fuel supply problem for TSI's have been enhanced i'll look at going something serious like a TD06-20G or GT3071R

    A nice plain candy white shopping trolley. Just looks like every other Golf out there, maybe a little lower and a pretty set of wheels. Retains maximum shock value when right foot is depressed.

    Thanks for the build thread. Looking forward to reading more and to seeing the ultimate results. Elevenses anyone?
    You know you are getting old when you cancel your order for a 3.6 CC and buy an Icelandic Gray TDI CC instead.

    Nothing better than a sleeper. And I really like white cars.

    Feel free to continue this as a build thread if you like, Sam. Or not.. That's up to you.

    I'll update when I get pics of your pistons (they're getting coated at the moment).

    The last parts have finally arrived. Pistons included.

    More bits, Snow performance W/M kit, Mocal oil cooler

    Mahle Motorsport custom 82.5mm 9.5:1 CR Forged and Coated pistons.

    DM Forged rods, calico coated bearings, ARP studs everywhere.

    Prepared block.

    Head with plenty of custom bits

    Custom modified MILTEK 3" race system, 3.5" DP.

    The parts are all off to the engineer for balancing and clearancing. The block will be honed and then assembly will begin

    Also, stock vs. aftermarket rod+pistons.
