not sure what all the MKV vs MK6 has to do with the rattle?
Anyway:

I agree Corey they are very similar but not worth slagging the new one as it is very good.
It's like all things that come and go in cycles, models go from round to more squared off and hifi gear goes from black to silver and back to black..
From a distance the harder lines in the MK6 aren't that obvious. The shape as a whole isn't radically different to the MK5 so the MK5 owners should be happy it isn't radically different/better.
Great photo that! I'll take the red one![]()
Just to get back on topic,
Are all the cars with the rattle DSG equiped, or are there manual's out there with the rattle as well?
I have a manual and it rattles in the 2500 -3000rpm band, - apart from the other rattles
mk VI GTI, manual, reflex silver, basic
Basically - turn your stereo up!
The parts are the same as what was used on the MKV GTI. So we know that it is very reliable. The reason you hear the noise in the MK6 but not in the MKV is because of the new exhaust design in the MK6, in combination with the MK6 being much quieter overall than the MKV (plus having a lot less rattles in general than the MKV). Due to this, the operation of the wastegate is what you're hearing.
