Any bad to buy a Dealer demo?

I'm looking to buy a GTI DSG.
Just wondering any bad to get a dealer demo?
For example, I can get around $4000 off the price for a demo.

I want the option like sunroof and leather.
also, Is that worth to pay for audio upgrade?

I'd avoid a dealer demo on a GTI, as most people take them out on "spirited" test drives.

Have a look the "Dealer Negotiation" thread, you'll find that people are negotiating $4000 off new cars.

+1, I remember when I took a GTI for a "spirited" test drive, few hundred k's on the clock, and bouncing it off the rev limiter........almost made my other half sick in the car, I was having so much fun, alas why I chose the 118 to keep my licence, haha

Ha ha ha, I went one better (worse?) than that... I chose a 103TDI for a similar reason (amongst others of course)... Took the GTI for a drive - even did a couple of launch control starts...

God, they're great cars - in bang for buck terms nothing IMO comes close... A car that is docile and civilised yet still goes hard if you want...

It'd take me a lot more than $4000 off for me to consider a demo though - as others have said you can get that on a new one...

    Regards,
    - Anthony.

I did the same thing.. almost

The larger issue buying a demo car is you cant spec it up exactly how you want. There are some specific options that dont seem to be on any demo cars.. leather, ACC, xenons come to mind.

    yea right... very truth.
i did very gentle on the test drive, but still boost it of cause.

The dealership is very close to hill. i drove up hill to try.
the feeling reminds me for a driving event in Audi TT-S.

The GTI gave me over 80% of feeling of a TTS.

Just wondering how long u guys plan to keep the car for?
Im a person easy to get bored with a car. That stops me to buy a brand new car. lol

There is no way I'd buy a GTI or GT sport as a demo. They get flogged from day 1 non stop and with mostly short trips so the car never warms up properly. I remember a test drive in a GT sport TDI where the salesman was redlining it from cold.

Being a sports model it will have been thrashed from cold just about every second test drive.

....and potentially gotten all 4 wheels airborne over slight crest, landing really hard causing the driver to clench....

Hey, if you're going to sell it before the warranty expires, go for it.

That's what im thinking. I never thought i can keep a car over 3 years.
    My best record was 13months.
But after reading others reply, that 'd most likely a nightmare to buy a demo.
I think i will go for a brand new one.
    Cheers
