So what's your excuse elisiX? Or do you think calling people "pricks" not rude? On the other hand I have only gone so far as to be facetious in frustration at your asinine and dictatorial comments and have otherwise kept it civil. You'll find no comparable example of rudeness in my posts which is remarkable as you would test the patience of a saint.
Why? You imagined this needed clarifying even though it was in the first sentence of Lawsy's post. Not only did it not need clarifying, it was irrelevant to the question posed.
That is all Lawsy was doing. How can you fail to realise this?
Apparently not - see above and the original post. It's in B&W. He was tossing up between two different Golfs. He said so. Everyone responded as if that is what he was pondering. Everyone gets it except you.
But then you try and weasel out of your mistake by suggesting you know what Lawsy had decided "for the short term". What the hell does that mean? He had decided not to go ahead with the GTI and to reassess his purchase, that is all.
What is so hard to understand?
I was being facetious but wondering why you would say Lawsy was "exaggerating" and then cast doubt on his word, as you did. That (casting aspersions) is what I call unnecessary.
Again, it was just my opinion of this otherwise fine car and I very much enjoyed reading the spirited defences of the R32 it prompted and which would have provided valuable grist for Lawsy's mill
As for them standing for themselves, they were excellent comments, and I welcome them.
You got that right!
But it would just be nice if you respected the opinions of others and paid a little more attention to the original post and did not make up BS about the issue being the cancellation of the order when that was merely the (now irrelevant) catalyst for the question of GTI or R32.
Then do everyone a favour and stop dissing people's opinions, telling people what they should or should not be discussing on this forum and wrongly interpreting the reason for the thread when it is so bleeding obvious.
If you think that is rude, then you deserve every bit of it and some.
WOW... just wow. Even after I make an obvious offer to put the swords down.
You can put the dictionary away now bud. I dont want to keep you up all night trying to find any further extra special words to feed your corpulent ego.
2019 BMW M3 CS
I dunno . . . rising fuel prices and environmental consciousness and perhaps more power and better performance from the more efficient, lighter-weight R20 that will fill its place.
While I am sure it is a fine car, it is, dare I say it, abominable in these times (but perhaps not as much when the R32 was conceived) to have a car that achieves so little more than a GTI in practical terms with so many more resources.
The R20 undoubtedly reflects this and the changing attitudes and imperatives that are driving automotive design.
Maybe get a scooter or hydrid if you are concerned dubya, less hot air would help too.
As I said back on about page 4, the R32 isn't the better choice than a GTI but that is my opinion, much as what you are saying is yours.
But to comment on the above quote. IMO, the R32 is an emotive purchase. What seems to be common sense doesn't always exist in this case. Even after driving a Mk6 GTI, I still found something to love about the R32. And while you may not understand or agree with it, the fact remains that people love the R32. It sold well and is still a good car.
Anyway, this thread didn't need 6 or 7 pages. The OP should drive an R32 if he hasn't already and decide if its a worthwhile purchase. It is unfortunate that the dealer wasn't able to supply a car within the agreed time frame. Have they attempted to source a similarly spec'd car from another dealers stock, they do trades like that all the time I'm sure.
I say if you're going to spend more than $45k on a car make sure you're getting exactly what you want. It makes the wait a bit easier knowing you're going to receive a car with the specs you wanted. But don't our opinions too seriously.
I want to know who to send the bill for the ten minutes of my life I have just spent reading lots of posts that were mainly bickering and waving e-penises around, not at all useful in answering the questions the OP asked ?
Honestly, some people need to get a life and think about why they are on this forum.
