So many kms and a bad service record , i would stay away regardless of price .
If it had a perfect service record its still risky , what year is it ?
Hi everybody
I’ve got my eye on a mk6 golf R with 197,000 kms.
Service history is average with evidence of recent engine oil changes only.
I’ve listed the following to be replaced up front as a cost, anything else I should be concerned with?
1) timing belt and water pump.
2) dsg fluid change.
3) haldex fluid change.
4) replaced rear rotors.
5) fix oil leak front left of engine up high that’s coming from a small cover.
6) cam follower.
Worth going for or too risky?
I can get it for 15k.
Thanks

GTI clubsport/edition 40 manual white 2016
Mercedes Benz A200 AMG pack red 2016
Its a 2010 year
I would probably add PCV and ignition coil packs to the list of things to replace. Both are quite cheap and known to fail on the Mk6 R engine.
Just as a side note, given the money you are going to spend on maintenenance and servicing on this car - it might be wiser to pay a few grand more for another one with better service history.
