Both 188kw's? Assume a typo somewhere?

While we are talking dynos and figures, Guy are your tunes run up on an AWD or 2WD dyno?
    Sorry Dave - ~ 180kw's stage 1

If youre going to say something then say it. What do some tuners do? Im curious to learn
Tim, The dyno results are in my post above - Sydney - Multiple S3's:

    http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/f21/...h-49363-7.html

We dyno in 4wd when needed, our local (as in a few hundred metres away) is 2wd. Just spent 2 weeks in Melbourne on a mainline AWD dyno with several Haldex cars & all done in 4wd.

We are seeing pretty much identical figures from the Golf R's to the S3's. Have you run any Golf R's on a dyno yet?

No probs! I'd never seen the fuel pump mentioned for stage 1.

From last January (at Mainline Dyno HQ, in AWD Mode on a 40 degree C day!), there were a bunch of S3's run & a few other modded A3's / GTI's. Anyway, Todd who runs the dyno did an overlay comparison when some one asked for one.

From this thread: S3 / TTS / GTI Pirelli Sydney Dyno Day

    Here are Todds graphs:

Robert NBK12Y was Revo (not sure what other mods)
Len LM468 was APR + Fuel pump only
    Tim YFP01Y was Giac only
Peter BLG93S was a stock, facelifted version

Sorry, different cams, different compression, different head & I'm pretty sure Jims has a 3" full exhaust as well?

I havent run anything on anything. Im not a tuner. I just dont like the way you continually imply that competitors products are inferior. You should stick to spamming your own wares.

Also. you didnt answer my question. You raised doubt over "some" tunes and "what they do". Comments like that can really cause a lot of people to get their backs up. You should be more specific. Especially when everyone has to share the same forum.

I suggest people log the "component protection" parts of their tune, I'm not naming any tune in particular (are you worried Tim?) but certainly EGT control & the "method" of making a peak HP number is not always the same.

This thread is about dyno testing Golf R's, certainly we have had 5 separate Golf R's on different dyno's & have good experience with them.

You sell a product & you have just stated you have never run one on a dyno, let alone pulled data from one - how come you are the expert in this post?

Back on Topic - A Dyno run comparison that shows Horsepower & torque curves are good. Data logging of groups as per :

APR - High Performance Development for Audi, VW and Porsche Vehicles.

Will show where your tune sits compared to factory safety levels, how much boost & fuel is requested & able to be supplied (this is the FSI engine & hi pressure fuel supply is critical).

Ah that is excellent stuff, will give that a shot for sure! The O/P also has VCDS so he'll be able to do this on his R and report back!

    Those comparison charts are awesome.
My car is still on order and i've never had a "tune" of any sort so have no affiliations to anything, but from those graphs alone, the GIAC tune would be worse to drive around town in than stock, even though peak kW's have increased. Peak is way too high up the RPM.

Peak figures are good and all, but what i really want to know is how the torque moves down the RPM range to reduce the turbo lag feeling around town. REVO tune actually looks like a good result for both kW and Nm curves within the normal rpm range.
