Hey everyone,
We are beginning to get some times for the Golf R DSG with APR stage 1 upgrade and they are looking good
Can anyone tell me what would be the 0-100 expectation on a Golf R Manual with APR stage 1 approx...
Cheers.....
Manual would be a bit slower for drag racing but would be interesting to see the difference.
6MT is more about driver involvement and feel, but wouldn't say it would be that much slower in the scheme of things.

if u look further at the stats the Rothe tune is lighter than the other cars and was using 100 Octane fuel. it made more hp and torque than the other cars. the rothe has also had a DSG reprogram and other work done to it.. not exactly a simple stage 1 tune and voila 0-100 in 4.3 seconds
the BTS Racing machine that hit 0-100kn/h in 4.6 seconds... is not exactly a stage 1 tune. it has had dump pipe upgrade, high flow cats, semi slicks to reach those numbers..
so if anything this article cast further doubt that with JUST a stage 1 tune you could hit 4.6 seconds. the Hohenester car is the one that fairly represents a simple stage 1 tune and what figures you would expect from a stage 1 tune car! which is realistically about 5-5.2 seconds

Bugger the doubters.... how do I get my hands on the data box AND a S/C'd RS4 for a day
I was wondering why there was a new R thread in the Golf forum I hadn't seen before but had already posted in LOL
Fark me, impressive. Where's mine dammit
Jus resurrecting this old thread to see if we have progressed...
It would be nice to get some proper data down for a number of cars at different states of tune.
To help this along, I (like some others) have ordered a GTech Pro Fanatic RR (the one with the 10hz GPS and data logging) to replace my aging RaceLogic AP22.
I have a Stage 1 DSG R and easy access to a stock DSG R - both with approximately 1100km on the clock. But I figure the more data the better - so it would be great to get others to do the same and see what sort of spread we have over the cars.
For those interested, there is article written by RaceLogic on the accuracy etc of the VBox, PerformanceBox and older, non-GPS GTech like Fab_R's. Seems they are pretty accurate! The GTech with GPS should increase this to a point where there will be no need to dispute the numbers. Link to article below:

Well I ran my stock R on one of those RR acceleration things with the GPS.
Standard with 2 people in the car IT says 5.57 was my best time for 0-100.
The other STG 1 car ran a 5.24 with the same conditions, same bit of track climate etc (only done about 3 minutes apart).
STG 1 feels good. But no where near the claims. It feels like an extra 20KWs.
The device had us down to even less than that on the quarter mile.. So the whole 4.6 sec with a STG 1.. No chance.
Just like Robby said, there is a similar car that does a 4.36 0-100, and a 12.65 quarter!!
If a STG 1 tune even gets a 12.9.. I'd be impressed.. Correction.. I would not believe it.
Mid 13 sec car all day. About 0.3 quicker. That's where it ends. Maybe even a late 13 sec car actually.
If you have a STG 1, and do crack a 12 get your time slip and post it up. actually if you crack anything on the drag strip I would love to know what you get.
Oh and PS, I own one and would love a porsche for $65K.

Hi REXman,
Would love to know the conditions etc...
Like amb temp, road condition, straight, curved, any inclines etc....How many runs in each car, and in the opposite direction if any?
Im getting hold of the Vbox this week for some testing which i will video as well.
I will post the times up.
Road was perfectly straight for the 0-100.. But for the quarter there may have been a very slight curve at the end of it.
Weather.. Night time, 28-odd degrees.. Did them in both directions.. About 4-5 runs in each car.
Had a great time doing it !
And yeah FAB looking forward to you running the car. I helped you with all the info you wanted, so I ask the quarter mile is best done at the strip for no questions asked solid times.
But then who am I!
Hope I answered your queries.
