DSG & Stage 3 are great partners for the street, I still regret not being able to get my hands on one, as I would love to nail some 0-100 times!
hi guy, what would be the 0-100 expectation on a Golf R DSG with stage 1 approx...

had mine done by dean at volkspower a week and a half ago.

    !
    Hey Guy,
Would be more than happy to test with your data box

I have a G-Tech Pro that i can also test with.
Not sure on your thoughts on their accuracy though.

    Cheers,
    Fab

    0-100 times

I did a couple of runs today in the Golf R using the G-Tech Pro SS.

As previously mentioned, the only thing done is the fabulous APR stage 1 remap.

Its just clicked over 1000'k so i didnt want to ring its neck.
But i basically short shifted in manual mode to 4500rpm and this resulted in the following 0-100 times.

    0-100

    1st run
    6.142

    2nd run
    6.010

I have no doubt whatsoever that a full "second" improvement can be made using sport mode (& launch control) for sure, even better perhaps once fully run in.

And whats the difference between SPort and Manual? I thought the only diff was that one was with paddles (sport) and one was with the shifter (i.e both using the same rev limits/throttle response etc).

So Is Sport mode quicker all round? Which one allows for rev limit to be used in each gear.

This appears to give rise to a 1/4 mile of around low to mid 13's.. which in a car built like a GOLF is awesome@@@!!

Sport mode is like Drive in that the car will shift automatically and will choose the shift points, but is more aggressive as to when it shifts (holds the car in a gear until much higher revs before shifting). Manual means you're choosing the shift points yourself by using the paddles or shifter to select a higher or lower gear when you want to (subject to a bit of override from the DSG in that it won't let you over-rev too far to protect itself from damage).

Yep, so FLM was short shifting manually as the car is still in break in. As mentioned in another thread, these times are very promising considering the short shifting at 4500rpm, and that launch control wasn't used.

I don't think launch control will add that much but shifting at 4500rpm and still doing ~6s? I can't wait to see the results with DSG just left in Sport and the right foot mashed to the floor!!!!

Launch control will allow you to start accelerating whilst already in the torque range, thus avoiding the initial turbo lag. Agreed it would be minimal difference, but it'll still be worth a 1/10th or 2
