Hey guys, on my runs at WSID I enabled LC back in the car park line even before I got to the starting line. So the question I have is does LC work only for the first time you touch the accelerator after you enable it? If so then my LC wasn't enabled by the time I got to the start line. I read the manual on enabling LC and it doesn't state anything like this.... Stoopid question but not sure if it disables when it's put back into drive mode or from first time accelerator is touched.

If you can rev your car without it loading up on the brakes (up to ~3000rpm, but even higher on initial spikes), then LC is enabled. If the car loads up against the brakes, then LC has deactivated (shift back to D then S to reactivate in the quickest manner).

@Dyldo - that's probably help quite a bit for the 60' times. It'll allow a launch of 4750rpm, plus it gives approximately 33% faster shifts than factory.

I will get the HPA stage 2 DSG Flash done as soon as they can do it down here.

Hi all, I went out last night to test the acceleration performance of my gti(stock dsg) and filmed the speedometer with my phone camera. The sky was clear, there was little to no winds/cross winds. The section of the road I drove on is a flat sealed road but after hitting 110km the road started to angle up a hill.
Apologies for the quality and the weird angle since I was pressing the phone againts the steering wheel with my right hand but here it is:

    Hey jrgti,

Good work on the video just wondering if there is a bit of a delay on shifts from 1st to 2nd gear? It sounded like it was slipping or something? Arent the gear shifts in S mode supposed to be lightning quick.

It's a GTI... it was holding the gear whilst the wheels were catching up with the engine
This is a common occurence on modified GTI's / crappy roads.

That has always occured when ever I'm using S mode. Like Corey has mentioned, probably due to crap roads but my golf isn't modified though. Another factor could be the tyres as I have the stock Bridgestone RE050 (not the RE050A's as these are apparently better). The slight loss of speed is always accompanied with wheel spin.
I've tried to overcome the problem by manually shifting the gears but I've yet to master that and still achieve a good time. It is a real challenge I have to admit. Other times I've only floored the accelerator once it shifts into 2nd gear but I've never been able to get the result I wanted.
This is the best acceleration I've achieved so far having to put the foot down all the way from launch control and it was the first attempt of the night. Glad I had it recorded.
Hoping eventually I'll be able to change my wheels to lighter alloys that are slightly wider (8inch compared to 7.5 inch Denvers) to provide more surface area grip and change my tyres to maybe Michelins? to alleviate the delay.

In my opinion the electric throttle on these things make it hard to feel exactly how much throttle is applied not to mention the slight delay at part throttle inputs. Thats why generally your best to just mash the pedal!

Isn't that how you're supposed to drive away? Wondered why my fuel consumption was up around the 14L/100 mark...
