The R sat on 115 all the way from Melbourne to Sydney apart from a few short stops.
Short blasts now and then either overtaking or just for kicks
Overall, 7.8 l/100km.
My R has achieved a magical 0.00 litres fuel consumption this week. Unbelievable!.......might be coz I haven't driven it![]()

Calculated use (although identical to the MFD)
Out GTI used to get under 7 on interstate trips
I normally don't bother with fuel consumption data but this was a good opportunity to compare it to our GTI and also respond to my gourmet meal and rice cake comment![]()

think my engine in the R is still being run in.
drove SYD to MELB with 1000km on the odo and averaged around 10l/100km
drove back with 4000km on the odo and averaged high 8s/100km
reset your MFD Average consumption counter. Mine sat flat at 11.5 no matter what sort of driving I did. After a reset it fluctuates with my right foot

That's pretty normal behaviour for engines as far as I know. They bed in and get better with a little age under the belt.
How do you reset your MFD? Are you talking about the 1 or 2 program reset. My 1 resets itself automatically after a few hours at rest.
Can anyone give me a link to the gear ratio difference between the 7 speed DSG and the 6 speed manual. I couldn't find them in the online brochure.
Yes just the 1 or 2 program reset
