I think you misunderstood my posting or maybe i didn't make it as clear as i intended but i am not whinging about anything. I love my job and i love the interaction with people from all walks of life that it brings, if i didn't i wouldn't do it right?!!

All i am saying though is it really isn't the cash cow you think it is, most consultants would be on 50, 60k a year but by the way people carry on you would be mistaken for not thinking we are on CEO salaries. This is why you see soooo many young cadets doing the job lately most grown men can't justify the hours worked Vs remuneration

I am not looking for sympathy or for you to make the purchase in anyway other than one that is comfortable for you. If this forum give you the information you need to feel comfortable in the purchase then we are all the better for it.
If you can earn 50-60k a year in a job without an educational requirement then you're doing pretty well. You know as well as I do that the uninformed buyer is your free lunch. The ups and downs of your business is not our problem, just as we would not expect you to account for our business woes (nor would we get any discount for a hard luck story!). Its no coincidence that you and other dealers are posting on this thread only. Its good that Dealers are watching this thread to see what their competitors are offering. Posts which are generally helpful to the purchaser would give you more support. And yes, we all feel waaay more comfortable now we know more about the game of buying cars, thanks to this thread.

Could be a variety of things, but usually if you work for certain companies then you're entitled to discounts on new purchases from certain other companies. e.g. KPMG employees get a discount on new BMW cars (which may or may not hint at what I just bought lol)

Passat B6 you have some serious unresolved issue's with carsales people, you need to stop buying cars its not good for you health!! It's also quite offensive that you assume that sales people (of any kind) are uneducated, that has the stench of pompous arrogance about it.

What is it that you do for a in your business that is so academic and pure that it allows you to come on here and turn this forum into a beat up?? Are you a non-for profit organisation??

I am in sales myself, not cars but i don't have to try and sell someone a 30, 40 50, 100,000 item that they purchase maybe once every 3 years. I also have the benefit of a closed market i mayonly sell stock to food chains but it's maybe in the 1,000 of dollars an order and it is easy and i can tell you i earn twice as much as these blokes. There is nothing commendable about what i do but i don't have people coming onto forums trying to expose me as filth.

It seems you have more of a personal vendetta against car sales people which is fine but it comes a cross s little full on.

However in saying that it is good to see that the spreadsheet has been made, it gives a good insight into what i can expect when looking at the VW product. Would Skoda be the same seeming though it is a VW Group Product?

I would be the first to admit that it would make me feel more comfortable about purchasing the new car. The only hesitation i ad with the info was the accuracy with the variable of fleet and non fleet pricing. There is also 2 stages of fleet i have been told Corporate and Corporate Plus, they both have different levels of discount.

How do i decipher what person was entitled to what discount, there is no point in expecting lets say a 12% discount if it will only happen with corporate assistance and i am not entitled to it.

Does anyone know how to tell the difference.

    Cheers

    Steve

I think you are getting way too emotional and irrational. My post is clear, factual and not in any way incendiary. What was said was that 60k a year is a good wage for a job where there are no educational requirements. There are few jobs like that these days. The point is that one should not complain about a job which brings in 60k a year without years of study being required.

There is no vendetta or "unresolved issues", no-one said you were filth and no-one said that you are unintelligent or uneducated. Also, as far as I can determine you were the guys who brought up the issue of your wages and also the issue that we apparently believe you are all on CEO wages. All these slights of character are of your own making, not mine.

Its just silly to act like car sales people don't try to make as much out of buyers as they can when we all know its true and its even sillier to pretend that anyone who mentions this has an irrational dislike of car sales people.

So there is no need to over react. I'm just stating the following.
    1. Car salespeople try to make as much out of the customer as possible.
    2. The buyer will receive no discounts from a car sales person for the buyers current personal, financial or business difficulties.
    3. Car sales people commenting on this thread should make posts which are generally helpful to buyers and not posts which are aimed at disrupting the purpose of the thread.

I think thats all I have to say on the matter. We should leave the thread for the purpose for which it was designed - helping car buyers.

    Have a nice day.

I know you would like to think your post is clear, factual and not in any way incendiary but that’s because you have an overinflated view of your own intellectual prowess. You also seem to like the LAST WORD.

And being a man of supposed intellect you yourself would understand that your post has the stench of academic superiority “60k a year is a good wage for a job where there are no educational requirements”.
It also highlights your own bias and distain for these people and also highlighted your inability to see how anyone in such a role could have any form of education. No tell me would you let someone operate a multi million-dollar multi-facetted business with little or no qualifications………………….are you insane??

I do take this a little personally as my brother is the sales manager at a Honda dealership in NSW. He has an associate diploma in BM and is half way through his post-grads in marketing, what you have written in your generalized statement is utterly wrong and for the best a part showing your poor social intellect.

I also find it amusing that you refer constantly to the sales person as never caring about you and your circumstances that they wouldn’t discount more if they liked you or felt for your situation. This is silly, why should someone feel sorry for you or show compassion when you are there buying a new car?? Some people go their whole lives and never have a new car, but you wouldn’t understand that because you wouldn’t socialize with anyone in such poor financial standings I’m sure.

And two, it wreaks of hypocrisy because you are telling them to have no empathy for them as sales consultants irrespective of any of their own hardship’s, wages, working hours etc

    1. Car salespeople try to make as much out of the customer as possible.

    A. Of course, that’s their job. Would you prefer them to spend 11 hours a day at work to earn as little as possible?

    2. The buyer will receive no discounts from a car sales person for the buyers current personal, financial or business difficulties.

    A. Why would you be in a showroom talking about spending 10,000 of dollars if you are in financial hardship??

    3. Car sales people commenting on this thread should make posts which are generally helpful to buyers and not posts which are aimed at disrupting the purpose of the thread.

    A. What they do everyday is more help than anything you have ever or will ever post here. The reality is you are sending them out for with a mind set and approach that will aggravate consultants and therefore dictate the unenjoyable experience they will have.
As you said we will carry on posting new threads because this one has had it’s time.

Good luck with your crusade PassatB6, I look forward to buying my cars on Ebay.com in the near future once you have eradicated all the uneducated undeserving sales servants in OZ

I see you misquoted me but I prefer to believe its accidental. Its clear you have totally lost all rationality and there is no point continuing this discussion. All of these supposed character slights against car Dealers is a product of your own fertile imagination as is your story about me being annoyed due to having bad experiences with car dealers.

Lets leave it there, unless you want the last say of course. Lets agree to leave the thread for buyers not Dealers and their supporters. Seriously, your turning me off Skodas.

You can add my car to the list 103TDI I decided to go the economy route, as mentioned in previous posts found both cars 103TDI and TSI118 a great drive, but the diesel although costing more finally won out in my case, maybe less chance of speed fines any way here's hoping. Anyways here's the spec 103TDI, DSG, Sports Pack Cloth (mainly for the seats) + ACC + reversing camera, RCD510 with MDI, rubber mats floor and boot, tinted windows, premium plates, all on roads. $42500. Build week 41 so I may get it by years end, my last VW purchase was a new 1977 Golf GLS 1.6 so looking forward to this one.

Added to the list. Didn't know you could get the reversing camera with the RCD510... thought you needed the nav! oh well.
