MK6 118TSI 2010 3000 rpm Rev Limit

So I've got the ever so reliable GOLF CAVD engine with a DSG and 80% of the time it's great. However 20% of the time it decides it won't rev over 3000rpm in any given gear. It's quite annoying when trying to overtake and realising you've got no power as soon as the turbo spools up. Anyone know of this issue, there's no engine codes or warning lights popping up when it happens either.

Have a look here, someone with the same car with the same issue. Looks like an issue with the transition from supercharger to turbo causing the issue. The flap or clutch which transitions from the supercharger to the turbo failing.
