Whilst it's no doubt possible to stay in any position for 2 minutes, you may find later on you'll want more room.

I am about to place an order for a regular Golf.

Well, it looks better than MkVJetta version of the same car.

Not as good as Octavia RS Wagon though.

    Agreed,
Just go with the Octavia RS wagon if you want a cheaper euro wagon.

Also i don't think we get any variant models here, only the basic ones.

Shame they can't put the octavia wagon rearend on it.

You would think they would call it a Jetta wagon and leave the iconic Golf alone.

They said they'll put a few thousand on the Golf price for the wagon version.
The Tiguan wagon, which is a Golf base, has alloys, leather wheel, steering wheel controls, 2.0l motor, etc and starts at $34k+ORC.
It appears a similarly spec'd Golf wagon will be about the same price as better Spec'd Tiguan. My thought is the Tiguan is priced a little too cheap - pre -Recession exchange dollars. VWA is going to have a hard time squeezing in the Golf wagon.
    EDIT: Golf 118TSI Comfortline Hatchback 5dr 1.4TSI $34,500
    similar specs to Tiguan 125TSI Wagon 5dr 4WD 2.0T $38,000
Suppose a Golf Estate was sold at a $2500 premium over the Golf then it would be $37k-ish (same price as the Pug 308 wagon - but with no auto, no fogs, no auto rain sensor, no 7-seat option)

TDI tiguan in the drive. ParkAssist, comfort, fogs
Service every 15,000, new fault code every 7,500km

Does the tiguan come standard with leather?

Anyway, the Tiguan has the load area of a Golf hatch. The Golf Wagon will have a much larger load area than the Tiguan. For some people this will make all the difference.

Tiguan leather seats are optional as the "Comfort pack" which i believe costs 2.5K.

The tig has a smaller visible capacity than the golf wagon however with fold down and slip forward seats and a taller roof, you should be able to fit everything you need into it.

People complaining about the lack of space should have looked at a larger car and taken the Tig for what it is, a entry level Mini SUV, not a people moving transportable storage facility.

I don't see the market for the golf wagon honestly.
Between the tig and the skoda wagon, there is no need for another entry level euro wagon.
