    Locally fitted leather seats

I gather that it is possible to get Leather fitted into the car locally. Has anyone done this? I think it quite a bit cheaper than Factory, ie nearer 2K (rather than 3K) - but no heater in the seat.

I presume it means the seats only and not the panels.

Makes me wonder about the dark / orange tan leather you can get for the CC, for the golf. It looks smart on the CC. But I might be the only person that thinks that.

Up here in QLD you can get a whole car interior retrimmed including roof lining, door cards,. 3 colour seats with inserts, piping etc for about 3k.

2K will certainly get the seats done, probably in triple tone.

I agree - I love the natural tan colour leather - looks brilliant (IMO) with red duco. Very Ferrari/Alfa

Last quote I had for all seats and doors in a Liberty retrimmed in leather of my choice was $2,200. That was ~3 years back, but gives you an idea on price.

My only concern with having the seats re-trimmed locally is whether they will still be air-bag compatible. Not an expert on air-bags but I believe the stitchings adjacent to the air-bags tear when the air-bags erupt.
