Not yet... the "release clip" on the R Dash lights is actually more protected than the OEM lights. I was going to unclip one and stick my finger in to see how hot it was after driving to work this morning. But unlike the OEM lights, my finger nails weren't enough!

So I have some LED bulbs with resisters built in, no probs with bulb out warning. tonight I put the same ones in a gti and they through a code?? Mine as you can see is a '10' golf wagon, the gti is '10' as well. Differences are gti has xenons and R tails. Could it be a coding thing? Has got me stumped!

No. But my rear bumper hasn't distorted from any excess heat or caught on fire yet. Lol

Corey, I noticed that also - the clip sits much further in, guessing you need a flathead to be able to remove them?

Yeah - a small flathead will do it.

I'd say that they're actually better than the OEM in this way. Every time I'd wash my car, I'd catch the OEM clips with my wash mitt and waffle-wave drying towels!

Makes them less easy to flog off with as well! I was actually surprised that the original ones came out so easily! Made me wonder how long it would be before someone who gets an MY12 car, with the OEM LED lighting, comes out to find them gone... they are a 10 second job to remove.

Wash Mitt?! Waffle-Wave towel?! Damn... my car gets the Carlover Brush (after a 5 second blast from the high pressure hose to get rid of the excess dust, mind!) and a 15 year old Chamois. I'm not even sure I wash under there!

You're OK Mate... you've got the awesome R-Dash lights installed in your Beast! You don't need to touch those underpowered and grossly expensive OEM lights... it would only be a downgrade!

OK... I have discovered the first problem with my R-Dash lights!!!

When they are on... You lose ALL AM reception! I assume it has something to do with the Resistor Box?!

Is anyone else having this problem... could those of you with them installed please check and let me know if you also lose AM reception. I'd like to fault find and see if it is due to the way I have installed them, if I have a faulty unit or they just all do it!

I assume the OEM units don't have this problem... I might have to try these at some point! I really like my talkback radio... can't do without AM reception at night!
