Lack of Rattles / squeaks / problems TSI 118

I've had my 118 TSI for over 12 months now with nearly 19,000 ks on the clock.
I don't have a single rattle, squeal on acceleration, DSG problem whatsoever. What the hell's wrong with my car? Have I got a dud?

All in all, they're a pretty good car. I probably drive around half a dozen or so different MKVIs every week, and most have been virtually perfect.

The Golf is VW's best seller, so for every owner that complains, there'd be a lot more that are quite happy with their acquisition.

Part of that is probably due to it being such a quiet car inside compared to previous cars which makes any noises more noticeable.
You misplaced your post mate, this is no rattles thread.

Owner complaints of rattles have existed since the Mk I Golf - according to a book on the history of the Golf GTI I've just finished reading.

So if your Golf doesn't have rattles...it's defective.

No rattles in my GTI, I better take it back...

Compared to my MINI that sounded like a fork in a blender the GTI is perfect!

That's because people generally only post when they have a problem (which they seem to blow out of all proportion),

I have no rattles or noises, at least not caused by VW. Nearly everytime I have one it's because of something I have in the car.

Lucky you - I've never owned any car yet that didn't have at least one noise generated by the interior and this is my 5th new car and fourth manufacturer.
