    Hey Dave,
Do you know if I would be able to just use an upgraded slip ring for my 77TSI Golf to get MFSW buttons working? I heard conflicting reports that I may also need to upgrade the stalks as the 77TSI base model uses the wiper stalk buttons to access the MFD menu... Using my existing stalks may cause conflict in programming to get the MFSW MFD menu access to work?? The 90TSI upwards add cruise control and minus the MFD buttons on the wiper stalk. Anyone confirm this is true or not?

    Cheers,
    AL

    Mate,

I bought the Cruise Control package from Kufatec (which came with a new slip ring and new stalks - even though the MFD controls were still present) and it worked fine once the coding was done correctly.

I ended up with MFD Controls on the steering wheel AND on the control stalk and had 0 problems, the MFD could be controlled from both the stalk and wheel as normal.

    Thanks mate,

I may try my luck and just order a highline slip ring module only as I actually dont need cruise control function and see if it can be programmed for all the MFSW buttons to work.

    Cheers,

    Thanks Dave,

Yeah, I worked that one out, and have purchased the new parts including the combined SWCM/Cruise Control / Wiper Stalk.
Just waiting on getting a new Vagcom cable as the first one I got was faulty.

Yep, this is the best way IMO. Also the coding for the steering wheel wasn't that straight forward...to get it to work i HAD to insert the codes (the workshop i think its called you know whatever they are that tell you who did the coding). It would not accept the CORRECT coding without populating those fields.

    I just put in 12345

    Dave,
Yep , just discovered the 12345 trick for Workshop Field.

Got everything working except for Cruise Control. The only place I could see it was in Long Coding under Steering Wheel where there was a drop down menu to choose between "no cruise" or "cruise control on woper stalk". I obviosly selected the latter but still no Cruise working.

    Any idea ?

    thanks

    Thanks Ryan,
Is that the Steering Wheel Code, mine was 1880100000 and only changed the first digits whn I selected MFSW and I selected "cruise on wiper stalk". It changes to something like 1892100000.
None of the end digits seemed to do anything.
Is this similar to your coding ?

I think I am getting long coding and the shorter number confused.

The numbers I am getting are from the long coding helper.
After a bit more reading I think the MY12 Golf uses UDS coding (whatever that is) so the codes are different.
    thanks
