    no issues

    '09 MK6 GTI, 23,000kms, sunroof, tartan seat

No engine/gearbox/suspension/drivetrain mechanical issues so far.

No electrical issues, although wished the dashboard speedo backlight come on a tad sooner at dusk... probably just the way the light sensor is placed on the dash is detecting a tad too much sunlight as I live in the west, commuting home would mean sunset coming off from the front of the car right on dashboard...

    No issues from sunroof

Had RCD510 swapped for RNS510 off eBay no issues with the RNS so far

Haven't got time to do the RVC...

    No exterior/interior issues just flawless...

suspension a bit firm (no active shocks option) but that's probably just me getting old and wanting something more plush and carpet ride soon.

Pasted this in from another thread...

I bought my 09 Mk VI golf dsg 118TSI when it had 9000klm, it now has 52,000. Have had the window button support plate replaced (goes under the actual button, sits inside the door...$3 part). Other than that, some clutch shudders, which disappeared after driving it "as a manual" for a couple of short trips. This was a tip from a forum member.

so I've done 43,000 problem free kays.

I've carried masses of concrete tiles, roofing tiles, and bricks in it. I've fitted a lawnmower, whipper snipper, hedgetrimmer, blower-vac, petrol cans and a passenger in it, all at once of course!

I've taken my wife, my mate and his wife, plus one other lady, all of us in our ball gowns and suits, out on the town. And I often travel hundreds of kays with bikes on the roof, golf clubs and other stuff cramming the boot and seats, and still get amaaaazing economy, handling and pleasurable driving.

I understand some folk have had less than pleasant experiences with their 118TSI's.... but not me. I love it. And based on what I think of the car, I will buy another VW when the time comes. Who cares what other people say about their car in various surveys? It's what I think about my car that matters.

As one earlier poster to this thread said, people who are happy with their car are generally too busy to tell anyone... people who aren't happy seem to have all day to tell everyone!

I'm not suggesting that folk with bad experiences don't share them....they should. And VW should take note, and if necessary, take action.

But more of us happy VW drivers should post here, because diligent folk do research before they buy, and our forum needs to be a positive influence on prospective buyers. Let's grow the family!

Same here. I have a (june 2011 build) 2011 golf GTI. Manual, Reflex silver and pretty basic.

    I've had no engine issues
    I've had no gearbox issues
I've had no other drivetrain issues
I've had no head unit issues
    I've had no bluetooth issues
    I've had no MDI issues
    I've had no interior issues
    I've had no exterior issues
One issue caused by an diot dealer - sump plug not put on properly. noticed when I got home by the patch of oil on my driveway - got it all sorted.

Oh and a lady backed into the side of it not long after I got it. Lucky dad's a panelbeater so that was sorted quickly too.

Minor issues with the MDI and my ipod but I believe this is IOS 5 and not the car's fault. Overall - love it. This one is a keeper. Super fun, and great to live with every day.

In the dry - love the GTI. In the wet, wish I had an R because those bridgestones are s*** in the wet :/

    +1

I've since converted 3 of my mates, all JDM rice fans, to the world that is Dub (x1 Mk5 GTI, the other a new Tiguan and just last week one got a R32..)

    They love it.

For years I was a Honda man before owning my Golf (would still be one today had they not f***ed me over..) so this is my first VW. I'm very happy with the car and the brand. Next ride will def be another Dub.... also eying the new A3
