I've had a ham fisted oops moment :(

Whilst trying to remove the parker bulb (to replace with leds) I've managed to snap the plastic bit off the back of the bulb housing, the long thin black plastic part that I assume is to aid you in removing it? Do I actually need to turn these bulbs before I remove them or do they just pull straight out? I'm scared to touch the other one now coz the bastard snapped so easily it was ridiculous! So damn flimsy!

Any help much appreciated.
