    Ha, agreed.

Their quote was reasonable, especially if it did actually cover the planned mods. A couple of other insurers seem to get worried about how much is being spent on mods, rather than looking at what the insured value should be. I couldn't care less about the insurance on the mods as such, so long as the car is legal and I can get $x on a write-off then if the premium is reasonable both parties are happy.

The other thing I didn't really like with Suncorp was their move away from the ratings/no claim system. Maybe it will become the norm, but for now when every other insurer likes to know your a full rating 1 driver I don't really want the hassle of re-proving that down the track if I left Suncorp.

I'm with Shannons and have been happy with them. However recently I've put my parents onto Youi as they were much cheaper and they are not bad when it comes to claims.

    Insurance Costs for GTi?

    Hi guys,
As a relatively new GTi owner, can I get an indication of fully comp insurance costs?

I'm paying $88 per month via the vw dealer sourcing me the best price. I tried about 5 online sites and couldn't get better.

    Anyone beat 88?

    Cheers

Yeh, I think ACT gets pretty well shafted too. I'm mid 40's with car off street parked, new glass, and 60% no claims. New for old within first three years.

88 sounds quite cheap. When I purchased my car new 2 years ago, I paid 1600 (133 per month), but I was 25 and it was considered relatively cheap at the time. 2 years later, it costs me 1100 (91 per month) with nrma, no faults, claims or negative driving history and 60% no claim bonus. I live in Sydney and car is insured for market value (which was 35-37k or something from what I remember)
