Ha, agreed.
Their quote was reasonable, especially if it did actually cover the planned mods. A couple of other insurers seem to get worried about how much is being spent on mods, rather than looking at what the insured value should be. I couldn't care less about the insurance on the mods as such, so long as the car is legal and I can get $x on a write-off then if the premium is reasonable both parties are happy.
The other thing I didn't really like with Suncorp was their move away from the ratings/no claim system. Maybe it will become the norm, but for now when every other insurer likes to know your a full rating 1 driver I don't really want the hassle of re-proving that down the track if I left Suncorp.
