Yep, it's sort of the turning point of the waiting experience. It will be here before you know it. I should get to pick up mine soon.

I've been in contact with them since. Sorted out the dealer authority to register yesterday. No date yet but knowing that it is soon is all I need. Otherwise I won't get any sleep. (Which is probably fine considering the sheer amount of work to do between now and then. )

Also, I'm keen to know what people's experiences have been with regards to VW Finance if anyone would like to comment.

VW Finance. OK. I paid a decent deposit and have a balloon payment after four years. You can get pretty good rates, under 9 percent for sure, but they base the rate around your credit score on their system so individual results may vary.

They take the money every month and you can pay more without penalty. Just watch the get out early clause, mines not too bad.

Oh and you might get an Umbrella.

I nearly went with Stratton, they were excellent to deal with but VW beat their rate on a non commercial loan.

Thanks for sharing your experience, langers_sydney. The guy at the dealership said the current rate is 8.75% at the moment which is good. But his figures on repayments didn't seem to reflect even close to that figure. Worked out to more like 11.6% for some reason. They haven't yet told me what the establishment/dealer fee is for the loan yet.

I'm actually going to give RACV a shot. Their rate is 9.25%, extra repayments all good. There is a fee for early escape although it seems to be more administrative than attempting to claw back some lost interest. No balloon option but that actually suits me fine.

Well this is my experience which might not fit in with everyone. I was going to finance it through a business which may change the rates. Initially VW finance offered 8.99% which after I told them CBA (8.45%) and ANZ (8.2%) offered less. They then reduced their rate to 8.49%. At the end of the day, all I can say is that it is negotiable.

VW finance said there was a once off establishment fee around the $300-400 mark which I can't remember now and that is for both personal and business loans.

Thanks for sharing your experience. That's interesting to know that they are negotiable. It's a shame that CBA isn't as competitive as that these days. (10.99% is what they are offering for secured loans at the moment).

Yeah but this was going through a business loan. If you get can grab hold of a ABN things run slightly more smooth. Also ANZ didn't initally offer that. I was on the phone with them and they gave me some crappy rate so I said thank you for your time but CBA offered 8.45%. About an hour later i get a random phonecall saying we can beat CBA.
