How to track the car you have ordered?

I am planning to ask my dealer not to apply any stickers to the car (i.e. dealer stickers) and also to not attach the plates to the car as I plan to put them on myself with the Lakin set. This isn't the right thread.. but has anyone asked the same, and/or had trouble from the dealers with this sort of thing?

Yeah - it's been discussed in the Number plate thread, but some people have had issues with their dealers, especially a few who claim it's not legal to have a plate secured without screws and that they could lose their license.

I asked my sales person to ensure that no dealer stickers were attached, and they were fine with that. They were also fine with not attaching the plates and left that for me to do before I drove away. I used some 3M clear double sided tape. Search for "double" in the number plate thread and you'll find plenty of comments

Mine is a dealership swap - from Melb to Syd so it will be complied down there and then put on a truck yeh? They wouldn't do pre delivery etc before trucking it would they?

My understanding from discussions with dealers is that the car gets delivered to the original dealer and then transfered. This is why it can't just come off boat when it's at your local port rather than getting off in another state. So it will be complianced in the port that it's docks in and then transfered.
