I actually wonder, do all the ships carrying our cars pass through the Gulf of Aden? Like you know where hijackings and pirates roam? Gee, if it does go through that spot, I pray that the ships carrying our cars don't get hijacked.

Nope, they can come a few different ways. The Morning Camilla which bought my Golf R, and several other members cars, came down around the west coast of Africa for example.

I must of just read the last 30 pages of this thread and all I can say is, you guys are insane. I've nearly peed myself laughing many times.

My R is on the Don Quijote which is due in Brisbane on 4th January 2011. Dealer has advised me the 23rd for delivery, which sounds about right from what you are all saying. Any other Brisbane bound R's on board the DQ?

Someone picked up a white GTI today at Parramatta. Wonder if it was anyone here? There was also a white polo with sports pack. Didn't look to bad either. I used to real find the old oolomvery unappealing but the new one is on the money! GTI looks great In the polo too.

"SNAP" - mine is the same (colour & specs that you have listed) and i am in the same state. Pick mine up thurs or fri this week. Dealer is dking all their delivery stuff on my car today !

Hows the car going mate? Hope i have made the right decision!!! Too much time to think about it!

Quick question - for those who have ordered an R, how long does it take the dealer to know when they start building the car? It hasn't even been a month since I ordered, but it'll be great to know. Who knows how I'm going to make it through the 5 months!
