How to track the car you have ordered?

Nepean Highway is nowhere near my dealer but maybe they go somewhere else for compliance or detailing ie a private contract company?

That is likely, if the dealers have multiple dealerships (inc makes) they'd use a central location to prepare all cars and then deliver to the dealer for final collection. I know mine does it like that.

Re Faust, my dealer actually just left a message saying up to another week and a half until they get my ca so a while to go yet.

My GTI arrived on the Faust ,Tuesday 9th Nov at Port Kembla and my dealer said the car would be ready to be picked up on the 23rd Nov - so 2 weeks.

The cars in Sydney go to PrixCar in Minto first then to dealers.

Its bad luck to take delivery of a car on a Friday (so my Italian mate told me) so its for the best..... hope to see you on the streets on Monday

I'm assuming all the Sydney cars go thru' Prixcar in Minto.
It says on their website that they can handle up to 14,000 vehicles.
Apparently they will be trying to do the compliance on new cars in Port Kembla sometime next year.
Seeing as I bought my car from Wollongong it wont make much difference with the time from boat to dealer.
But maybe next year they might have an advantage.

OK update time.....My R was on Faust which arrived in Melbourne on Saturday 6/11. Today (7 days later) my dealer called me to advise that Patrick Autocare took delivery of my car on Tues 9/11 for compliance. It should be only 7-10 days from 9/11, till dealer gets vehicle. Dealer only needs vehicle for 24 hours, before I can take delivery! Yes, were in the home stretch, some 5 months since I ordered her.

I haven't been able to get into it for a few hrs now. Tried in IE and Firefox.
