How to track the car you have ordered?

You and me both Crow. Mine arrived on the 13th, cleared customs on the 17th, and apparently left the Melbourne Patricks yard for shipping to SA last Monday (24th). Wonder if our cars have been trucked over in the same batch. At any rate, my salesman's told me Solitaire have a huge backlog of cars to be prepped for delivery, so expect at least 10 days of waiting after it arrives at their prep centre (wherever that is).

I drove past Solitaire's service dept at Mile End yesterday, but didn't see any obvious storage areas for newly-arrived cars, so I guess they may not prep them there. Any ideas?

Tomorrow is 7 months of waiting for me. Hopefully not much longer now!

For the obsessed, the Asian Dynasty is off the coast of Lorne on its way to Melb tonight :-) Only a couple of weeks to go!!!

I suggest they both probably were on the same truck. Storage area has also interested me to. Hawthorn have a large shed out the back, where I know new cars sit, but I am unsure whether they do the options required there or not. All I know is that mine goes into pre-delivery on the 3rd hopefully that means I may or may not have it by the 11th for the long weekend as I am going country then and would be a good intro for it.

Had planned to do a Mile End drive by as well, but the weather and time eventually delayed this happening.

I know my dealer has heaps to do, but am disappointed to hear there is such a delay. Will be following up with my dealer tomorrow if she is around just to apply a little pressure to have it for that weekend.

My dealer called me this morning; mine's going into pre-delivery on Wednesday and I'll be picking it up sometime next Monday! Quite possibly the same situation for your car also.

We really should do a meet/cruise for the new SA GTI lads. ;)

Just got the phone call - picking mine up Saturday morning (evidently been in pre-delivery at Mile End since Friday). 7 month since I have had the Mk5 GTI - the wait is nearly over. :banana::banana:

Good idea to get together - I wonder how many Mk6 GTI's now in Adelaide. Still not seeing many on the street, although saw 2 in one day last week.

Looks like the Oberon is delayed. Due into Melbourne tomorrow.

I walk past the Hawthorn dealership most evenings on my way home from work. Been checking out the showroom expectantly looking for your CS beast... maybe I'll see it in there Friday night!

I got a call today, my CS GTI has landed in Melb, off the Asian Dynasty, I should get it sometime around the 25/6..which is a month earlier than i orignally expected. Cue the countdown...

i m going to pick up my car today!!
