Guys, I bought my car from Barlo Glen Waverly as well. Your experience has been the same as mine, I did not buy mine from Nick, but one of his colleagues. I had to keep calling, sending emails and I got pissed, what I did was walk in, spoke to this guy called Ashley, he was the manager in charge of ordering the cars and making sure that they get to the dealership once Patrick clears them. He said to me that it is the salesman's job to advise you of the progress after the sale is made. Well, do not believe that any sales man is actually doing this.

Anyway, once you pick the car up, your sales man will beg you to give him high points when VW sends you the customer satisfaction survey. If you're pissed off, just give him a bad one.

    Hi,

I am coming into this thread blind - haven't read much of back history... I'm too busy.... arghhh...

    25. Departure From Final Destination
    26. Arrival at Dealer
    27. Delivery to Customer

With this process. how long does it take. i.e. to get off the boat and to the dealer/ me.

    With my Golf R - I have a date of 14/10/11 for process 25.

I'm thinking it's about 4-6 weeks. ie customs, compliancing, detailing etc... to get to stage 27.

I was given an ETA of 31 Jan 12 but I wanted a 2012 compliant vehicle (or was it MY12 - confusion over this) - I'm not too fussed about that really, unless it's within a week or so of 2012... I don't want to have to wait weeks for compliance (if the car is ready in late Nov early December) when i'll be holding the car for a while.

So from placement of order 24/5 (oddly I signed the contract on 28/5) to arrival in country of 14/10 (estimated) is 4.5 months... with the eta of 31 jan that was 8months or so...

Does the time frame of 6-8wks seem from 25. to 27. seem about right?

anyone know when the year compliance date kicks in is it 1jan 12 - and do these govt workers (i assume) have a shutdown?

    thanks

    keg

Just thought I would add my bit to the whole dealer problem discussion. I had a very similar problem to those above whereby my salesman was great up until I signed and then after that he was a ghost. After a couple of months of one way communication traffic resulting in no responses I got in contact with my salesman and asked him to set up a meeting between him, myself and his manager.

Long story short, since that he has learned that he needs to focus not only on his sales but also his aftersales performance, and credit to him he admitted he had done the wrong thing and will endevour to improve his performance. So today a mate of mine bought a car off of him and mentioned my name and he called me after to say thanks which I thought was pretty good.

I guess what I have taken from this is that perhaps if you actually forcefully tell your saleman/dealer that you have issues with the service you are getting then you may actually be able to rectify it and also proivide them with some good advice for the future.

That being said some of them are just c#nts and nothing will help them at all

Exciting watching her on Port Phillip live cams been guided in. Would have been better if it was during the day though. Can't believe she is here. This will be the longest part of the wait now I think.

    Compliance kicks in 1.1.2012
PATRICKS - which arranges the compliance - shuts down for roughly 2 weeks.
If your car arrives mid December get the dealer to request from VGA to hold the car for a 2012 complianece. Be prepared to wait til mid/end January at least though & don't expect it to be ready on the 2nd January !

    Got an email from dealership

Hey Rob, just got an email from the dealership delivery coordinator saying my car is on a ship called the AIDA and it's due to arrive in Melbourne on the 12th of July and it will take 2-3 weeks to get to the dealership. Little did she know I have been tracking the AIDA since it left Germany.

hehe, we should be so glad that they are so on the ball. But I suppose they aren't really looking at ship movements like we are , if at all.
