Got my VIN number today! They told me it's still on target for a September delivery...does it really take that long in transit??

I am not getting a Golf but another yet to be released model in VW's line-up, still that long for the transit phase is a bit rude. The only thing I could think the delay is about is that VW need to flood the dealers with newer models to show off and the poor ones who spec ordered have been queue jumped.
Not exactly sure how delivery works once the car docks, but im guessing it would take a day or 2 at the docks while all necessary work is carried out there before being loaded up on the truck and delivered to the dealer. Then another 1-2 days at the dealer before handover to the buyer. The Melbourne docks are literally no more then an hour from my dealership so im hoping to have the car within a week of it docking in Melbourne. Does that sound right?Quote:
