After a long 5 month wait just got the magic call from the dealer, my car is with the dealer and I can pick it up on Wednesday!! Thanks to everyone on this forum for making the long wait a little easier. Only a few more days to go, can't wait for my first drive!!
Awesome news mate. Gratz! I just got a reply from the dealer and they said my car should arrive with them next week but they can't guarantee it will be ready then as they only have one staff member working while the rest are way on leave! So it may even be the following week after that for me :/ Oh well fingers crossed for next week delivery. The wait continues...Quote:

As some people have mentioned, he did say Patricks AutoCare closed sometime after Christmas and opened up again last Monday. Said there was a bit of a backlog but plenty of cars getting through now.
Ordered mine in middle of Nov. I was promised an ETA of May, but he said he was overstating the ETA just so that customers won't be disappointed. I got a call from the dealer today, and was told I've got a build date of Week 13, and car would be in my hands middle of June.
That's a waiting period of 7 months! Not happy! I think I should be getting some sort of compensation in some way!
I ordered my Golf R on the 28/6/2010 .. it is being delivered next week i.e. 7 months!!!!
The original car I ordered in August isn't due until June! 10 months! :P
Ordered 22nd Sept '10.......just had the call...picking it up 18th Jan '11.......just under 4 months!
Ordered early Aug,10 will pick it up next week, nearly 6 months..... one month delay to the scheduled date
Ordered 27 June and due to drive it away on Friday 21 Jan thats just under 8 months. Was originally due to collect on 27 Feb so really happy just over a month early
Woohoo! Just got a call from the dealer. Told me I can pick my R up on Monday! Will be just over 4 months in total for me so pretty damn stoked! Dunno how I am going to sleep Sunday night! :banana:
