I note your Advertisement for the Polo has gone.. quick sale..?
Well... it wasn't "quick" - it took a month and a half - but yeah - it's gone now! To an ex MKV GTI owner who went from full time to part time in order to go back to uni. He was very surprised to find that Polo GTI (being Stage 1) was quicker than his Golf GTI. I told him not to be too upset by that... in some cases it's quicker than my Golf R, lol.
You can sell a car in a day, or in 6 months... I mean, you can only sell it once, and it only takes 1 person to buy it. It entirely depends on 1) The price you're willing to let it go for, and 2) how long it takes that 1 person to see your ad!
The Patricks (Terminals) that clears the cars from the boats/docks is different to the Patricks (Autocare) that transports the cars to the dealership for clearance. Basically, cars are cleared from docks within 3 days (Patrick Terminals work on weekends too) but then may take several days for Patrick Autocare to transport the car to the dealership and go through compliance, options, etc.
Well thanks to thread, I have been checking 'occasionally' for the ships location with the R.. Unfortunately the location hasn't been updated in almost 7 days.. Grrr (and no, not going past Somalia either..)
My R arrived at Port Kembla in 2nd Jan. I got the call from my dealer this afternoon. I will be ready for collection on 21st Jan. Not a bad turnaround. The wait is almost over.....
Gratz! What ship was your R on? The Don Quijote? Has anyone that has had cars on the Don picked up theirs or recieved a pickup date yet from the dealer? Mine arrived on 30/12/2010 in Melbourne, but no word from the dealer yet. Could be any day now! Hoping its sooner rather than later. Cmoooon this last wait is a killer!!
