1) People don't generally post on forums saying their car is perfect and problem free. I've only read of <5 engine issues and the remainder was to do with the DSG.
2) 98RON is prefferred regardless. 95 is more or less only for those emergency situations when you're in the middle of nowhere. Spending a little more on fuel is much better than spending a lot on fixing an unhappy engine (plus the extra power and eco gains make it worth it).
3) BT is pretty easy to retrofit, and these days isn't expensive either.
